Federal Holidays Social Security & SSI Impact Hub
Understand how official Federal Reserve holidays, banking closures, and weekend overlaps affect your direct deposit delivery dates under 31 CFR Part 210 and SSA POMS GN 02401.005.
The Golden Rule: Treasury Payments Are Never Delayed Past Due Dates
By federal statute under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA) and Social Security Administration rules, if a scheduled distribution falls on a non-banking day (Saturday, Sunday, or official Federal Holiday), the US Treasury must disburse funds on the closest preceding business day. Your money is delivered early, never late.
